The recent update of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (Pniec) presents a roadmap for an enhanced, powerful and ambitious energy transition. The main objective is for renewable technologies to account for 81% of electricity generation in Spain, and this will be achieved through an investment package of approximately €294 billion by 2030.
The new Pniec includes fifty additional measures and prioritizes the development of energy storage, setting a target eight times higher than the previous one, reaching 18 gigawatts.
